Special events that occur annually at The Stick Shed.

There are three events we hold each year at the Stick Shed.

The Murtoa Big Weekend is held on the first weekend in October and as part of that The Stick Shed offers a combination of short talks by former workers followed by tours of the Stick Shed at 11.45am 12.45pm and 2.45pm. Between April 18th and May 18th 2025 The Stick Shed will be part of the National Trust’s Australian Heritage Festival. The theme is “unearthed”.

The Stick Shed will be highlighting some of the significant archival items we have discovered in the past year. Watch the “News” section of this website for more details closer to the time or check out what’s on offer here https://www.nationaltrust.org.au/ahf/vic/

Celebration of an icon. Each year in late February we celebrate Shed Day. In 2025 Shed Day is Saturday the 22nd of February. The Stick Shed never had an official opening, Shed Day marks the anniversary of when the Stick Shed became fully operational in 1942. We will have more details on what is happening on the day in the “News” section of this website closer to the time.

More events are coming soon!
